First seen in Beit Dajan (بيت دجان), the cypress tree (شجرة السرو) is one of Palestine’s most beloved embroidery (تطريز) motifs. Stitched in repeating patterns with regional variations in color and form, it links cities and villages through a shared cultural landscape. Today, it is most common in the embroidery of Beer al Sabe’ (بئر السبع) and Gaza (غزة).
